Hiking near Barcelona: some natural landscapes you cannot miss
Whether you live in the province or outside of it, and you are only spending a few days in Catalonia, you cannot miss these hiking trails near Barcelona.
1. Garraf Natural Parc
If you like caves and speleology, you will love this itinerary through the Garraf Natural Park. In addition, it is a very simple route with only a drop of 100 meters. The idea is to start with stage 1 that begins in the town of Olesa de Bonesvalls and ends in the town of Sitges. During the tour you will be able to observe how the passage of time, the wind and the water have eroded and formed caves and chasms that are worth knowing.
2. Collserola Natural Parc
Another very easy route that any hiker can take since its maximum difference in level is 200 meters. On this occasion, it also begins very close to the city of Barcelona at the Vallvidrera railway station and ends in the town of Sant Cugat del Vallés. During the tour you will be able to walk through places of great interest such as the Can Ribes Viaduct, the Camí de Can Borrel and the Pi d’en Xandri. The forest that you will find on this route is almost entirely holm oaks and oaks, but you will also be able to see heather, arbutus and durillo.
3. Montserrat and Natural Parc
Despite being an easy route, the difference in altitude is somewhat greater than the previous two, since they are a total of 400 meters. On this occasion, it is also a circular itinerary that begins and ends in the same place: the Can Maçana Parking, during which you will discover spectacular views from its viewpoints. During the tour, you will visit Coll de Guirlo, Pas de la Portella, the Vicenç Barbé Refuge and Coll Estret.
4. Montseny Natural Parc and Biosphere Reserve
Do you want to enjoy a spectacular landscape? This route will not leave you indifferent! With a drop of 600 meters, it is somewhat more difficult than the previous ones, it is very close to the province of Girona. During the tour you will be able to discover the most popular spring in this massif: the Passavets spring as it is very close to the road. During the route you will cross beech and fir forests. Once you get to the very top, you can return by the same path, or finish the route up to the top of Les Agudes, whose views are incredible. In fact, on clear days you can see the peaks of the Pyrenees. An experience that you will love!
